1. Temperature
The temperature of glass directly affects the viscosity, surface tension and solubility of gas in liquid glass.
In the glass furnace, the glass clarification process is carried out in the hot and high temperature area. The large bubbles continue to grow and float, while the small bubbles continue to shrink and be absorbed by the liquid glass. There are many ways to control the hot spots of glass. The longitudinal temperature distribution curve is formed in the longitudinal direction of the furnace, which makes the liquid glass form two large circular convection. The melting rate, the fluctuation of the discharge volume, the distribution of fuel and the organization of combustion flame, the oxidation and reduction state of glass and other factors will significantly affect the temperature level and temperature stability of the hot spots. In addition, the use of bubbling technology or electric melting technology can significantly improve the hot spot state of glass and promote the clarification of liquid glass.
2. Time
The growth and disappearance of large bubbles in glass and the absorption of small bubbles by liquid glass must be completed in a specific temperature range and a specific time range.
Some factors in the melting process, such as the depth of molten glass in the melting pool, the temperature of molten glass at the bottom of the pool, the melting rate, the convection of molten glass, the oxidation-reduction state of glass, the electric melting at the bottom of the pool or the bubbling at the bottom of the pool, can significantly affect the disappearance process of glass bubbles. If the bubble disappears for a short time, it will remain in the liquid glass and form glass bubbles.
3. Oxidation-reduction state of glass
The selection of clarifier has a great impact on the redox state of glass, and the clarifier promotes the disappearance of glass bubbles above 1300 ℃. In recent years, with the enhancement of people’s awareness of environmental protection and the improvement of the grade of glass products, many complex clarifiers have been developed. Due to different functions and prices, enterprises have diversified choices of clarifiers. The daily detection and control of the COD value of the glass batch and the stability control of the valence state of the variable metal in the glass liquid affect the temperature at the bottom of the tank and the oxidation-reduction state of the glass, as well as the solubility of the gas in the glass.
